1. Registration:
- Prior to your registration, please ensure that you have followed your school’s internal protocols and procedures for approval to attend this professional learning engagement
- Registration will close 1 week before the start of a professional learning engagement.
- Participants will receive a welcome email or notice of cancellation/ postponement within a week of the starting date of the professional learning engagement informing them of the status of the engagement.
2. Attendance and Certification:
- Attendance will be recorded at all EDI professional learning engagements.
- If a participant is absent, the schools will be fully charged.
- Unless a cancellation email has been received by EDI in writing within 10 days prior to the start of the professional learning engagement.
- Failure to attend a professional learning engagement will be treated as a cancellation and the registrant will be charged.
- EDI will send certificates to all participants, via email, who completed the required attendance and tasks for each specific professional learning engagement.
3. Cancellation and Amendments:
- By participant: Cancellation fees for workshops will follow the below schedule and apply to all participants.

- All approved cancellation requests within this deadline will be issued any relevant refunds within 6-8 weeks after the workshop. Absentee registrants are not eligible for any post-conference refunds.
-All requests for cancellations, refunds and amendments must be received in writing and sent to [email protected].
- Changes will become effective on the date of written confirmation being sent.
4. Extenuating Circumstances:
Any refund requests, based on special circumstances, following the cancellation deadline must be submitted in writing and include any supporting documentation, i.e. physician’s letter. These requests will be subject to review and approval is subject to the discretion of EDI.
By EDI: If a workshop is not confirmed by email and canceled by EDI, the registered participants will receive the full amount of the registration fee.
Force Majeure: Should inclement weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances require the cancellation of the workshop (after it has been confirmed), EDI will make every effort to reschedule the same event for another date and your registration will be moved. In this event, EDI does not assume financial responsibility for travel expenses incurred by participants. Participants are encouraged to purchase a travel insurance plan designed to protect the traveler from losses resulting from sudden and unexpected conditions or events.
5. Behavior during the workshop:
-EDI shall provide a safe and agreeable environment for all EDI professional learning engagements. It is therefore expected from all participants to behave responsibly and respectfully throughout the event. This includes:
- An expectation that all participants are seated and ready to begin at the published start time of a session, will return from breaks on time and will stay for the duration of each session.
- Proper use of the venue’s facilities and equipment,
- Restraining from using offensive or aggressive language with fellow participants as well as the workshop leader and staff.
-Wearing clothing that is appropriate and respectful to the culture in Qatar.
- Following the EDI workshop leader’s guidelines during activities. No participant should disrupt the sessions or cause disturbance to other participants’ learning.
EDI reserves the right to exclude from attendance at the event any participant, whose behavior is perceived by EDI, in its absolute discretion, to be prejudicial to the safety of others or the proper and enjoyable running of the event. In the unlikely event of such an exclusion, no course fees or other expenses will be reimbursed or refunded.
6. Liability:
While EDI engages in providing state of the art venue and catering services for participants, neither QF or EDI staff are responsible for the safety and property of participants or their companions in relation to attendance at the venue of the workshop or any excursions related thereto or for any financial losses incurred if the event is canceled due to reasons beyond EDI’s control. Neither QF or EDI staff has liability in relation to participants for any damage to or loss of property or any financial loss due to the participant’s negligence during the workshops.
7. Privacy and Data Processing
Audiovisual Recording Policy: The audio and/or videotaping of EDI professional development workshops is strictly prohibited. Anyone in breach of this policy may be asked to leave without refund of participation fees.
The EDI sometimes requests a photographic, digital, video, or film record of its conferences, workshops and other events. Whenever it chooses to make such records, it will only ever make use of them for its own legitimate business purposes. By registering for and attending an EDI event, participants are deemed to accept that they may be included in such a recording. In the event that the participant becomes aware of his/her image being used in a way with which he/she is uncomfortable, he/she should make representations to EDI.
In specific circumstances, participants will be asked to complete and sign a consent form.
Processing of Data by EDI: EDI staff may access, store, or process any personal data submitted to EDI. By submitting personal data to EDI, the participant irrevocably agrees to EDI using this data to inform the planning and delivery of professional learning engagements. EDI follows the Qatar Foundation Data Protection Policy and Procedures.
